Kilmer to Hold Telephone Town Hall Thursday, February 15, 2018

TACOMA, Wash. – In order to hear from constituents about the issues that matter to them, Representative Derek Kilmer (D-WA) will hold a telephone town hall on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. PT. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Representative Kilmer a question or leave a message with their comments.

“One of Congress’s biggest problems is people forget about the impact that the decisions they make have on our community. I work for you, so it is important to me that I hear directly from you,” Congressman Kilmer said.

Residents of the 6th District who would like to join the call can send an email to kilmer.teletownhall@mail.house.gov with their name and phone number by noon PT on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

Residents who sign up before the deadline will receive a phone call around 6:00 pm on Thursday night inviting them to the town hall which will start at 6:05 pm and last about one hour.

                        Residents who sign up before the deadline will receive a phone call on Thursday night a few minutes before the start of the call. They’ll have the option to stay on the line to participate, or simply leave a message with their views.

This is the second telephone town hall of 2018. Earlier this month, Kilmer held two in person town halls with local businesses. He’s also participated in roundtable meetings with fishermen, public health workers, and realtors. Last year, Kilmer held 13 town halls, including in Tacoma, Bremerton, Aberdeen, and on a ferry route from Bainbridge Island to Seattle. He also hosted four town halls this year at local colleges and universities in the region and a number of employee town halls at local businesses. In addition, Kilmer consistently holds telephone town halls, open office hours, and meets with constituents on ferries, public buses, and at their places of employment.
