Kilmer Reacts to President Biden’s State of the Union Address
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer (WA-06) reacted to President Biden’s State of the Union address:
Tonight, President Biden laid out a clear vision for our nation’s future, emphasizing the need for urgent action to tackle the challenges facing the United States.
There has been a lot of progress that’s been made, including a new law to allow Medicare to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices for seniors, investments to spur American manufacturing and lower prices, a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that has already invested significantly in Washington state, and much more.
But beyond implementing these major new laws, the president made clear that there is more work to do – and that he is committed to working with Democrats and Republicans to build on that progress. His agenda and his specific proposals – focusing on critical issues like lowering costs for families, passing commonsense immigration reform, and strengthening our national security – are ideas I think Democrats, Republicans, and all Americans should be able to rally around.
There’s more work to do, and I’ll keep pushing for Congress to deliver for the American people.
