Dr. Frank Kitamoto Remembered
This afternoon, April 6, Dr. Frank Kitamoto, was remembered by family at friends at a ceremony at Woodward Middle School. Kitamoto was one of the 227 Bainbridge Japanese Americans and 120,000 Japanese Americans across the country forcibly relocated to detention camps during World War II. Kitamoto dedicated his life to preserving the history of Japanese Americans on the island, creating the BIJAC oral history project to document the experiences of island residents who were relocated during the war.
