Grants to boost teacher-nonprofit partnerships

A $148,000 grant awarded to the Port Townsend Marine Science Center illustrates the value of community partnerships. “This is a major example of how partnerships between nonprofits and public entities can benefit everyone,” said Sarah Rubenstein, director of the Port Townsend School District’s Maritime Discovery Schools Initiative, now in its second year.
