On October 14th, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer will host a press availability following a tour of a sawmill in Aberdeen with area timber and conservation stakeholders and business leaders. Secretary Vilsack and Rep. Kilmer will discuss how collaborative public-private partnerships have flourished under this Administration to create a new generation in natural resource conservation, as well as how recent initiatives and investments have helped to boost Washington’s agriculture and forest products industries, creating local jobs and supporting rural communities within the state. USDA has invested more than $22.1 billion in Washington since 2009 through its economic development, farming and ranching, conservation, community infrastructure, and research programs.
