Come Hear Ideas On How To Fix Congress
According to a recent Gallup Poll, only 17% of Americans say they trust our government in Washington DC to do the right thing “almost always” or “most of the time.” How can Congress reduce the partisanship that prevents progress on social and economic policies?
U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer of the Sixth District chairs the Select Committee to Modernize Congress and is also a member of the Bipartisan Working Group, which strives to bring Democrats and Republicans together to forge greater consensus on a wide variety of issues.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon at West Sound Tech, 101 National Ave., Bremerton, Rep. Kilmer will speak about bipartisan efforts focused on fixing Congress and restoring the Legislative branch to its full capacity. This program, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Kitsap, is free and open to all.
