Commemoration to be livestreamed from Hawaii to Forks

The city of Forks will host a livestream of the National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Commemoration from Hawaii on the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor today.

The free event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Rainforest Arts Center, 35 N. Forks Ave. The livestream from Kilo Pier, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, will begin at 9:45 a.m.

The commemoration is being co-hosted by the National Park Service and the U.S. Navy.

City officials said a pre-recorded welcome by U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer might air just before the livestream. Kilmer represents the 6th Congressional District, which includes the North Olympic Peninsula.

Parking for the event is along the areas of Division Street and U.S. Highway 101. Paid parking is available across the street at the attendee’s costs.
