Kilmer Talks About American Rescue Plan, Washington’s COVID-19 Vaccination Effort, During Telephone Town Hall

Congressman Derek Kilmer will hold a telephone town hall to provide an update on the federal government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic early next week.

Kilmer, a Democrat who represents's Washington's 6th District in the U.S. House of Representatives, will discuss the American Rescue Plan during the event.

The telephone town hall is planned for 5:10 p.m. (PST) Tuesday, March 23.

The American Rescue Plan is the emergency legislative package passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden last week. It provides funding for vaccinations, schools, immediate and direct relief to families, and other efforts to help communities across the country respond to the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr. Umair A. Shah, Washington state Secretary of Health, will also join the conversation to discuss the COVID-19 vaccination effort in the Evergreen State and answer questions.

“Even though we can’t meet in person right now, it’s important for me to hear from as many of the folks I represent as possible,” Kilmer said.

“I hope people will be able to join the town hall to learn more about the American Rescue Plan, my ongoing efforts to ensure the federal government steps up to lend a hand to families and local employers, and to get your questions answered,” he added.

Residents of the 6th District can call to join the town hall at 877-229-8493 (the PIN number is 111435) or listen over the internet at www.Facebook.com/Derek.Kilmer
