Pay attention to the politicians working together
Cary Bozeman’s kind words toward Senator McCain are much appreciated. (Letters, "Will McCain's courage inspire others?" Aug. 30)
However, his view that there are no others willing to reach across the aisle and work together isn’t what I have seen and experienced. For example, I, a Republican, sought a change to the law so 150 KPS participants would be eligible for coverage elsewhere after KPS folded. 23rd District Senator Christine Rolfes got a bill passed and signed by the governor so that none of them had a coverage lapse.
Sen. Tim Sheldon, Democrat, 35th District, reaches across the aisle so well and so often that the die-hard Democrats are running a candidate against him.
Rep. Michelle Caldier, 26th District, is another legislator who reached out in an effort to seek votes for bills she deemed important for her district.
We are blessed with Congressman Derek Kilmer, who made the effort to form a group in the House that are both Democrat and Republican.
These are representatives who put country before party and deserve another term.
