Richards, Johnson leading in Clallam commissioner primary
(Port Angeles) -- Democrat Ron Richards will advance to the general election for Clallam County commissioner this fall. But who his opponent is still uncertain. Through election night, Independent Randy Johnson was the second top voter getter with 805 votes or 27 percent. Republican Gabe Rygaard was a close third with 717 votes or 22 percent. Republican Maggie Roth appears to be eliminated.
It appears Democrat Mike Chapaman and Republican George Vrabel will advance to the general election for a seat in the state house for the 24th District. Chapman had garnered 45 percent of the district-wide vote to come in first. Vrable has 37 percent.
6th District Congressman Derek Kilmer is easily advancing in the primary for his seat. It appears he will take on Republican Todd Bloom this fall. Kilmer received nearly 60 percent of the vote. Bloom is next closest with just under 24 percent.
