Kilmer Focuses on Jobs and Soliciting Input from Community While Travelling through District

During the current two week District Work Period, Representative Derek Kilmer is travelling throughout the region making stops with local business leaders, attending roundtables discussions with local community leaders, and soliciting input from his constituents. Representative Kilmer continued to hold “Kilmer at Your Company” events where he meets with employers and the workforce of businesses around our region.

Last week, Representative Kilmer held a roundtable on mental health issues, spoke at a community town hall sponsored by local credit unions in Kitsap County for people affected by the across-the-board cuts, and held a “Kilmer at Your Company” event at Simpson Investment Company.

This week, Kilmer will hold a Federal Workers Roundtable in Bremerton with House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, roundtables on Labor and Housing issues, and hold an Open House in his Port Angeles office.

“Kilmer at Your Company” events this week include Applied Technical Systems in Silverdale, Gravitec Systems and Trulife in Poulsbo, Carlson Formetec in Tacoma, and Green Mountain Technologies in Bainbridge Island. Kilmer will continue to hold frequent “Kilmer at Your Company” events with employers and employees in the region throughout the year.

“I’m very grateful for all the productive discussions I’ve had with members of our community about the important issues we’re facing like the need get folks back to work,” said Representative Kilmer.  “Whether it’s ‘Kilmer at your Company’ events, open houses, or roundtable discussions, I hope to hear what’s on the minds of as many folks in our region as possible so we can get government working for them.”
