Kilmer Statement on Iran Nuclear Agreement
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer (D-WA) released the following statement after President Obama announced a nuclear agreement with Iran.
“The proposed agreement with Iran is historic, with the power to shape not only the Middle East but the entire world. As a dad of two little girls, I want us to take a path that will make it less likely that Iran ever develops a nuclear weapon and that protects America and its allies abroad. With that in mind, my sincere hope is that all members of Congress will take a deep breath, review the details of this accord, and make a fully informed judgment. I intend to use the next sixty days to carefully review this agreement to make sure it puts us on a path toward a safer and more peaceful world.”
