Kilmer Statement on Orca Task Force Recommendations

WASHINGTON, DC –Today, Governor Jay Inslee’s Southern Resident Killer Whale Task Force released its initial recommendations. Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-WA) made the following statement:

 “The fight to save the orca is also a fight to protect our economy and identity. Today’s recommendations from the task force mark an important step forward. While the state considers these recommendations, Congress should step up by passing the P3 Act and other policies and investments which lead to cleaner water, more salmon and orca, and ultimately a healthier Sound. Count me as a partner.” – Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-WA)
