Rep. Kilmer Statement on USMCA Agreement
“I am pleased to see Speaker Pelosi and Ambassador Lighthizer announce an agreement on modifying the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA), setting the stage for congressional consideration. I have been supportive of the ongoing efforts by Congress to negotiate serious improvements with our partner nations on overall enforcement, labor and environmental standards, and prescription drug pricing. As a representative from one of the most trade-dependent states in the nation, I know how important updating this agreement is to help create jobs in our region and to continue to sell Washington-made products across the globe.
