Kilmer to Hold Telephone Town Hall

In order to stay connected with the people he represents while in Washington DC, Representative Derek Kilmer will hold an hour-long telephone town hall with constituents on Wednesday, July 31st at 6pm PT.  After a brief update on his work in Congress, participants will have the opportunity to ask Representative Kilmer a question or leave a message with their questions or comments.

“I’ve always said democracy works best when elected officials are accessible and accountable to the people they represent.  While this doesn’t replace face to face meetings, while I’m in DC I’m glad to have the opportunity to discuss the issues that matter with the folks I represent,” said Representative Derek Kilmer.

Residents of the 6th District who would like to join the call can sign up at http://kilmer.creativengine.com/contact/townhall or send an email to kilmer.teletownhall@mail.house.gov with their name and phone number by noon on Tuesday July 30th.

Residents who sign up before the deadline will receive a phone call at 6pm on Wednesday, July 31st inviting them to the town hall.

In seven months since taking office, Representative Kilmer has held six in-person town halls across the region, in addition to town halls via phone and internet.  He also frequently meets face-to-face with constituents and takes their questions at forums and Kilmer at Your Company events. This will be the second telephone town hall held by Representative Kilmer.
